Plaster of Paris is gypsum impregnated onto gauze. Upon dipping into water you can then begin to mold the bandage around an object or limb to create a plaster cast. Plaster of Paris was the common name for plaster. Plaster come in many forms. Liquid plaster, plaster gauze and plaster strips. Often it is just a name change. For example plaster bandages are often called, plaster wrap, plaster gauze, plaster rolls. But it is all plaster of Paris. OrthoTape has high quality plaster bandages for art hobby use. Our plaster wrap bandages have many uses such as kids face mask art, belly casting of a pregnant belly and also life casting. Plaster gauze bandages are still used in medical use as well for casting a broken leg or arm.
